These are photos of ‘Junior’ my current stud dog and personal companion. I call him my shadow because he has to be close by everywhere I go. When I was recuperating from my horse riding accident last year he stayed by my bedside, walked next to my wheelchair and stood solid to give me something to lean on when I needed to stand up. He walked slow and carefully beside me to help me keep my balance.

He embodies the true Mastiff. He is AKC registered as MTC Semper Fi Angus Junior. When I completely regain my sense of balance my goal is to show him in bred by exhibitor classes all the way to Grand Champion.

What the Lion is to the Cat
the Mastiff is to the Dog,
the noblest of the family; he stands alone,
and all others sink before him.

Cynographia Britannica – 1800

These large, powerful and majestic dogs have a very rich and colorful history, dating back many centuries. The English Mastiff is thought to have descended from large mastiff-type dogs brought to Britain by the Phoenician traders as far back as the 6th century B.C.

These dogs were crossed with local fighting dogs, and their offspring were used to hunt Wolves, and later as combatants in various blood sports, including fighting the lion and the bear. When the Romans arrived, they were so impressed with the Mastiff breed that they often took the dogs back to their arenas in Rome.

The first and second World Wars reduced the breed’s numbers in their British homeland, and there are presently more English Mastiffs in the United States than there are in its country of origin.

Grand, but very good-natured; courageous yet docile and very dignified, the Mastiff is a sturdy companion and protection dog measuring 30 or more inches at the shoulder (females 2-1/2 inches less).

It’s coat is short and dense and comes in shades of apricot, silver fawn or dark fawn-brindle, all with darker muzzle, ears and nose. Regular, thorough brushing is all the grooming necessary.

This anthology includes chapters taken from a comprehensive range of books, many of them now rare and much sought-after works, all of them written by renowned breed experts of their day. These books are treasure troves of information about the breed – The physical points, temperaments, and special abilities are given; celebrated dogs are discussed and pictured; and the history of the breed and pedigrees of famous champions are also provided. The contents were well illustrated with numerous photographs of leading and famous dogs of that era and these are all reproduced to the highest quality. Books used include: My Dog And I by H. W. Huntington (1897), The Twentieth Century Dog by Herbert Compton (1904) and many others.

Some adorable puppies from past litters.

Our colors range from brindle to fawn.

Our AKC registered puppies born and raised right in our home, where they receive plenty of TLC and gentle handling from the time they are born to the time they are placed with their new families. Our pups are extremely well socialized; a job that our 5 year old son takes very seriously! Pups are vet-checked and vaccinated, and come with a comprehensive genetic health guarantee, details of which are provided at the time of sale.

We choose to place our puppies with loving, responsible families who are ready to make a lifetime commitment to their puppy and are aware of, and prepared to manage the responsibilities that go along with owning one of our special puppies. Mastiffs are BIG dogs, and need plenty of room and exercise to stay happy and healthy. A fenced yard is an absolute must, as is the time, knowledge, and financial ability to provide for the puppy’s needs.

We are happy to provide any support that you may need after your puppy is at home with you, and we love to stay in touch with our “extended families”. While we sincerely hope that all of our puppy placements are permanent, we realize that the best laid plans do not always work out. If, for any reason, you are unable to keep your puppy or dog, we will be happy to foster it while we locate a suitable replacement home. We do not wish our puppies to ever end up in shelters or rescue.

If you are interested in purchasing a puppy for your family, please browse through our Kennel News Page, and then feel free to contact us by email or telephone.

Shipping can be arranged (at buyers expense) to homes, so please don’t let your location keep you from contacting us if you are interested in a puppy. We are more concerned with placing our dogs in good quality, forever homes than simply in local homes.
